This biennal two-day workshop is primarily
addressed to scientists interested in the field
of bioactive lipid mediators. Scientists from
across Europe have been invited to share their
expertise in a number of research topics that
include the state-of-the-art knowledge of the
biochemistry, molecular biology and physiology
of lipids as signaling molecules, their
involvement in inflammation and their role in
several disease conditions. The Workshop will
also give novel insights into non-mammalian
model systems.
The workshop
has two main goals:
1) to bring
together researchers to discuss the latest
results and developments in this area;
and
2) to promote
interaction and exchange of ideas among the
different laboratories.
For this
third workshop, a special emphasis is placed on
exploring the therapeutic possibilities of
manipulating lipid mediator production, as a
strategy for preventing or ameliorating
cardiovascular, musculoskeletal or respiratory
diseases.
